Grammar

Change with 了

clause + 了

Use 了 to signal a new situation or completed change.

我生病了。Wǒ shēngbìng le.I have become ill.

下雨了。Xià yǔ le.It has started raining.

Modal verbs

想 / 要 / 可以 + verb

Place a modal verb before the main verb.

我想去医院。Wǒ xiǎng qù yīyuàn.I want to go to the hospital.

你可以多休息。Nǐ kěyǐ duō xiūxi.You can rest more.

What is wrong?

Lin我生病了，想去医院看病。

Wǒ shēngbìng le, xiǎng qù yīyuàn kànbìng.

I am ill and want to see a doctor.

Maya你要多喝水，多休息。

Nǐ yào duō hē shuǐ, duō xiūxi.

You should drink more water and rest.

Lin谢谢，我现在去看医生。

Xièxie, wǒ xiànzài qù kàn yīshēng.

Thank you. I am going to see the doctor now.
